These sites contain images add interest to multimedia projects. There are other sites on the Net, but most are not royalty free. Be sure to check the copyright information for legal usage of the images.

    Pics4learning - Established especially for teachers and students. Copyright-free. Note the “lesson plan” link which will lead teachers to good ideas for incorporating the images into lessons for language arts, social studies, math and science.

    The Amazing Picture Machine - Somewhat limited in its results. Explore the link “What kind of pictures are on the Amazing Picture Machine?” before deciding upon your keyword search.

    The Digital Library Project - From UC at Berkeley, more that 80,000 digital images. Students may require assistance in using the search engine.

    Agricultural Research Service Information Staff - Quality digital photos, especially ag related.
       National Image Library - U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service photos of wildlife, plants, National Wildlife Refuges and other scenery, as well as wildlife management work.
  • http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/index.html
    American Memory Historical Collections for the National Digital Library - Interesting site, but will require serious, determined research for a desired image. Suitable to research projects associated with history topics. Be sure to read copyright explanations.
