The Lockwood Middle School building is a latex safe environment. Please encourage the purchase of brand named items. Latex allergies have become a serious problem for a growing number of people. Exposure to latex (any natural rubber containing product) can cause symptoms ranging from hives, sneezing, asthma, or even life threatening anaphylactic shock. Creating awareness through education is essential in preventing latex exposure for sensitized individuals. The only treatment to date is avoidance.
