ITEMS FOR ACTION

A. Hiring of a Teacher and Paraprofessionals for the remainder of the 2011-12 School Year.

Superintendent Johnson recommends Gretta Henrickson be hired for the vacant teaching position. Mrs. Hendrickson is currently employed by the district as a paraprofessional. She holds all required certification requirements.

Mrs. Johnson also recommends Elizabeth Johnson, Michelle Prange, Colleen Simpson and Savanah Smith be hired as paraprofessionals for the remainder of the 2011-12 school year. All those recommended are working as substitutes for the district.

Superintendent Johnson explained the need for these positions come from the shuffling of staff that occurred when Sandy Maloughney was moved to replace Middle School Special Education Teacher Linda Ruegsegger. Gretta Henrickson will be taking Ms. Maloughney's place and Gretta's position will be filled by one of the newly hired persons. The other three paraprofessionals are badly needed in each of the buildings. Funding for these positions will come from the re-budgeting of unused Title I Student Education Service dollars as well as unused Title I Professional Development monies.
