CALL TO ORDER - 6:30 pm
Chair Susanne Vinton opened the work session, called it to order at 6:30 p.m., and led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The following trustees and officers were present: Trustees Susanne Vinton, Jason Hamrick, Peter Freivalds, Becky Malenowsky, and Tamara Spillum, Superintendent Eileen Johnson and District Clerk Diane Brook. Trustees Greg Bochy and Tim Sather were absent.
Facilities Director Art Anderson was also present.
The Board of Trustees met in work session in the Board Room to discuss the 2007-08 Trustees’ Financial Summary and the proposed 2008-09 Budget.
Diane Brook provided information and explanation regarding budget development, state budget regulations and guidelines. She also discussed preparation of the Trustees’ Financial Summary and briefly reviewed the detailed information provided in the document.
The trustees had each received paper copies of the budget document, spreadsheets, and the Trustees’ Financial Summary, as well e-mailed documents. Paper copies were also available at the work session.
Art Anderson, Facilities Manager, briefly discussed landscaping and irrigation ideas for the new middle school. He noted that the cost would likely be greater than $50,000 and the project would need to be advertised for bids.
No action was taken at this meeting.
Approval of the 2007-08 Trustees’ Financial Statement and adoption of the 2008-09 Budget will take place at the regular board meeting on August 12, 2008.
