The public bid opening meeting of School District No. 26, Lockwood Schools, Yellowstone County, was held in the Board Room, 1932 U.S. Highway 87, Billings, Montana on Thursday, January 31, 2008, at 12:00 noon.

Trustees and officers present were Trustees: Tim Sather, Teresa Stroebe, Becky Malenowsky, Superintendent Eileen Johnson, and District Clerk Diane Brook.

Vice-Chair Teresa Stroebe conducted the meeting. She announced that the bidding had closed at 12:00 noon and she led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance at 12:06 p.m.

Registered guests present were Scott Chartier and Shane Flohr of High Tech Construction.

Terry Sukut, AIA, with JGA and Keith Campbell of ACE Engineering were also present.

Contractors Mark Jones and Tyrel Keller of Star Service and Brian Mollenbrink of Precision Plumbing were also present.

Bids for Phase IV - Bid Pack 4 (HVAC Remodel/Renovation)

Scott Chartier of High Tech Construction, Construction Manager for the project, advised two mechanical bids were received here today. High Tech had three electrical bids submitted directly to them previously at their offices. High Tech Construction submitted the low electrical bid. No mechanical bids were submitted directly to High Tech Construction.

Scott read aloud the sealed bids, with each bidder providing bid security and acknowledging Addenda 1-2 as follows:

Scott informed those present that the bids would be taken under advisement. All bids will need to be reviewed to make sure they are complete. High Tech Construction, ACE Engineering, and JGA Architects will work together to evaluate all bids and alternates.

Scott noted that Precision Plumbing withdrew from the bidding shortly before the deadline.

High Tech received electrical bids from ACE Electric, Yellowstone Electric and Reddi Electric.

Final decisions regarding Bid Pack 4 will be made at the next regular board meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2008. At that meeting Scott Chartier, representing High Tech Construction, will make bid award recommendations to the Board of Trustees from the bids received today, and they will provide the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP).

The bid opening was concluded at 12:30 p.m.
