April 18, 2012 PTA Board Meeting

1. Fair Housing Meeting – brochures for both landlords and tenants were available. There is a self-help law center on the 4th floor of the library.


2. Lion's Lair: Rob gave a history of Lion's Lair and gave some ideas/suggestions to consider in regards to where to go from here. One possibility is to take half of the structure down at a time and put new playground equipment up. The bridge between the two structures could be taken off, as long as the posts were stable and shored up, if necessary.


3. Grants may be available through Home Depot and/or Lowe's, but the grants have to be written – and there is a specific time frame for each. Usually grant requests are for the following year, so will need long range planning.


4. Charity is the new chairperson of the Lion's Lair Committee.


5. One suggestion was to talk to community-minded businesses (Harvest Church, First Interstate Bank, etc.).


6. A meeting to discuss playground equipment for Lion's Lair will be held mid-June, before the 15th.
