Free Cooking Classes at Lockwood School!

Thursday, March 27 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and runs 7 weeks in the FACS room of the Middle School. What you can expect:

- A free instructional class on how to prepare simple, nutritious recipes from scratch that
   will cost you much less than pre-made items.
- Learn to plan your daily nutrition needs with low-cost meals.
- Incorporating healthy meals for work and home, economically.
- How to make healthier food and meal choices.
- Managing and budgeting food resources.
- GroceriesPreparing quick, easy, inexpensive, yet tasty meals that your kids will love.
- Portion control, snacks and breakfast.
- Understanding food labels.
- Making the most of your food budget.
- Help increase physical activity in your home.
- Wise shopping.
- Food safety and sanitation practices.

What else you get:

A calendar, guide book, food pyramid, microwave handouts, a recipe book,
shopping list, weekly meal planner, fruit and vegetable recipe handouts, milk,
meat and food safety handouts, AND
Those who attend the final class will receive a slow cooker, a folder full of
recipes and a complete meal to take home to their families!
