Everyone is asked to save their Box Tops for Education box tops or Tyson Chicken product labels over the summer and return them next school year. These can be found on many products. Please drop them off at the school offices. The money comes directly to our PTA.

    Glasses

"Has your child lost their eye glasses? The nursing office currently has 12 pairs of lost children's eye glasses. Please visit the Nurse's Office before the end of the school year to help identify your child's glasses.

Any eye glasses not claimed will be donated to the Lion's Club Sight Program after the end of the school year."

Early OutWarning! The internet is not a safe place. We have all heard stories of children getting into many kinds of negative situations due to activities on the computer. In general we think we are safe, and it will not happen here to our children. This thinking is dangerous. It happens and it happens HERE at Lockwood School with Lockwood School students. KNOW what your kids are doing with their devices. Know the capabilities of their devices. Know their friends. Know what they are putting into the world. Our kids are accessing porn, sending inappropriate photos, making unsafe contact with adults and treating others with disrespect. This is not a comment on morality; it is my plea to keep our kids safe. The more I learn, the more I fear for our kids. We will be bringing in a speaker in the fall to talk to parents about internet safety. Please attend! Do not push this off and think your child is not involved. All children have some form of risky behaviors on the internet. It is quite possible they do not fully understand the risks they are taking. It is our job as adults to know the risks and monitor the behavior. Knowledge is power and in this case it is the power to keep your child safe.

I will be on patrol this summer. If you have questions or concerns, call 256-2929 and leave me a voicemail.

"Alright, that's it, let's roll. Hey! Let's be careful out there."
