Fifth Grade Band
Fifth grade students will have the opportunity to join the 5th Grade Band in September. Your child will have the choice of playing the following instruments: flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, baritone and percussion (snare drum & bell kit).
If you already have an instrument for your child, it is highly recommended that you take it to one of the music stores in town and have it looked over so it will be in great playing condition when your child starts band.
In order to have a well-balanced band it is important to know what each child will be playing. Some restrictions may need to be placed on the number of instruments in certain sections.
If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Miller in the Intermediate Building at 248-3239 (press 2), or email to:

Stay Up-to-Date by Regularly Visiting Lockwood Schools Web Site!
Where can you go to learn all about Lockwood Schools? The answer is the Lockwood Schools web site. The site is in its eighth year of providing news and information for visitors and is still growing.
The message board on the welcome page is updated almost daily with dates and times for upcoming events and with news related to the school and community. A few of the direct links available at the top of the welcome page include the school newsletters, PowerSchool, breakfast and lunch menus, calendars, supply lists, lunch schedules, school board minutes, bus routes and registration forms. The parent center, individual teacher sites, and contact information for all Lockwood staff members are some of the other direct links. The "Enter Our Site Here" button takes the visitor to several more areas such as specialists, community education, health and food services, technology, the Family Resource Center and much more.
The school web site has expanded to provide more information about groups in the Lockwood community. There is a link at the top of the welcome page for the Lockwood Community Steering Committee. The steering committee pages provide information about the group, its purpose, and links to meeting minutes starting in January 2007. Meeting notices and agendas are posted on the web site welcome page each month. Another group with a special area on the school web site is the Lockwood Little League. Meeting dates, fund-raiser information, bulletins and a schedule of activities are posted during the year. Community notices are posted on the "Community Page" message board when they are made available to the web master.
If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the site, or if your group would like to have an announcement posted on the site's "Community Page,” please contact the web master at: kirknessdeani@lockwood.k12.mt.us |
