My name is Peter Freivalds and I am honored to serve on the Lockwood School Board. My wife Johanna and I have lived in Lockwood for 21 years. Our two sons, Aaron, who is presently serving in Iraq, and Ryan, who is a sophomore at Skyview, both attended Lockwood School from kindergarten through 8th grade.

My association with Lockwood School includes helping build the Lion’s Lair, a community member on the technology committee, helping wire the Primary School for the internet, giving demonstrations on medieval sword fighting, lectures on investment and saving to the middle school math classes and most recently serving on the new middle school design committee.

For 14 years I was a certified financial planner, knowledge and experience that I can bring to the school board. Four years ago I went back to school to the College of Technology and received an Associates Degree in Computer Networking. I am presently working at Wells Fargo Bank as a technology specialist providing technology support for the bank.

My present position at the bank allows me the time to be more involved with the community and give back to the school that educated my sons. I care deeply about the educational needs of all students and want to continue to bring forward a process of open and inclusive board discussions. I believe the best decisions are made when all parties are included: parents, teachers, taxpayers, students and the board.

I look forward to serving on the board and to continue its outstanding tradition of serving the Lockwood community.
