The 2007-08 school year for Lockwood children will start Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Please follow posted speed limits and watch for children at bus stops.
There is a whole page of bus route information in this newsletter. All buses for Lockwood Schools are equipped with video cameras with audio to ensure the health, welfare and safety of all students and staff.
Kindergarten through third grade students will attend school from 8:00 a.m. to 2:55 p.m. Kindergarten classes will be held all day, every day. The school day for students in grades four through eight will run from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Registration for new students will begin on Monday, August 20.
An official copy of immunizations from the doctor/clinic and birth certificate are required to register children for kindergarten. All new students need an up-to-date immunization record at the time of registration.
Please check with your child’s physician if you have questions regarding needed immunizations. |

Building Project Underway
Work on the building project, which consists of a new middle school, a fire lane around the campus, parking and access areas, and remodel of the heating and ventilation system in the existing buildings, is under the direction of the architectural firm of JGA and the construction company of High Tech. Recent contracts for the site work and footings have been awarded to JTL, Gary Webber, and C & S Construction. Paving is underway for the access road and parking. In August additional bids will be advertised for the major parts of the new building.
Fencing to provide safe walking areas for students will be completed before school starts. Drop off for Primary students will be in an area off Peters Street on the east side of the campus. Parking will also be available in the main lot.
Kindergarten orientation parents should park in the main lot near the Central Administration Building.
The project is on schedule with an anticipated opening and moving into the new building during August 2008.
