5/12/05 meeting are as follows: Members present: Randall Rice, Brent Lipp, Johanna Freivalds, Kim Pollock, Linda Ruegsegger and Mike Sullivan.
Mr. Sullivan asked for verbal input from the core team members so that a formal evaluation of our first year in MBI could be written. It was the general consensus of the group that the middle school staff has a good understanding of the philosophy and beliefs of MBI. The team reviewed accomplishments over the past year.
The team also discussed goals to work on during the 2005-06 school year. Three new goals were discussed: 1) Creating new surveys for students, parents and staff. This would include the use of the online SSARB (Safe Schools Assessment and Resource Bank) through the University of Montana Education Division. 2) Develop a youth leadership component. 3) Develop a parent/community component. The final topic discussed was the Summer Institute, June 20-24, in Bozeman. Mr. Sullivan noted that the middle school currently has 16 teachers registered to attend. The middle school team members have been invited to attend a day, June 22nd, working with other MBI schools and the state consultants during the institute. The team also discussed having a meeting for those registered teachers before May 27th to discuss the institute, answer questions, etc.
