Core
team reviewed survey results and noted the following:
Strengths
- Our
kids feel safe at school--supported by questions #5-8 on parent
and student survey and #15 on teacher survey
- Our
kids know what they should be doing--supported by questions #1,
26-30 on the student survey and #5 on the parent survey.
Concerns
- Lack
of consistency--supported by questions #2, 8 on the teacher survey
- Image
that teachers project to students--supported by questions #3,
11, 24, 25 on the student survey
Overall
discussion
- Fairness
appears to be an issue in the middle school
- Teachers'
view of themselves tended to be more positive than the students'
views
Overall
consensus of the team
- When staff speaks with one
voice, it is effective in reaching the students (i.e. homeroom
review of handbook by all staff to all students)
Team
planned how to present the information to the staff at the faculty
meeting scheduled for 1/18/05
