The MSU-Bozeman Extension office will be offering free cooking classes at Lockwood School beginning Thursday, January 14, 2010,from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and runs 8 weeks in the FACS room of the new Middle School. What you can expect:

• A free instructional class on how to prepare simple, nutritious recipes from scratch that will cost you much less than pre-made items.
• Learn to plan your daily nutrition needs with low-cost meals.
• Incorporating healthy meals for work and home, economically.
• How to make healthier food and meal choices.
• Managing and budgeting food resources.
• Preparing quick, easy, inexpensive, yet tasty meals that your kids will love.
• Portion control, snacks and breakfast.
• Understanding food labels.
• Food safety and sanitation practices.

If you would like to increase your skills for achieving better health and nutrition for you and your family, then this is the class for you. If you would like to learn strategies for getting the most out of your food dollars, then this is where you start. Remember- it’s FREE!
