Make & Take
- Takes place in January each year.

A parent or adult friend is invited to have lunch with their third grader and then go to the Family Resource Center to make a fun game. This program is always a big success.
Pumpkin Painting
Pumpkin painting takes place on an October evening before Halloween. The 2006 event was a huge success.
Lunch-N-Learn
Lunch-N-Learn is a program for kindergarten students and their parents. During certain months each school year, families are invited to join their child for lunch and fun, educational activities.
The Lunch-n-Learn program is a 50 minute period during which parents can meet their child at school, on a designated day, for lunch together followed by a choice of special activities set in a warm, inviting environment. Here a family member or members participate with their child in a hands-on learning experience. They also have time to do activities of their choice that enrich the child's learning and the adult's involvement in the school. Each family member is provided a Lunch-n-Learn folder where they can continually add new ideas for crafts, recipes, songs, etc.
Activities:
The activities encourage reading and provide a time where a specific book can be read aloud. The time also includes directed and non-directed activities including play dough, stencil art, thumb print art, shadow play, etc. These activities reinforce the literature presented that day. Teachers that are involved are contacted for their suggestions. If any teachers are using the ideas from a specific person or book, those ideas would be reinforced. Parents can leave with ideas and games that can support classroom instruction.
This event takes place in September. The program gives parents some insight into sixth grade and should last about 25 minutes. Then participants go to the Middle School where they meet their child by their locker and go to lunch.
Breakfast & Books
Parents of first grade students are invited to school for breakfast (FREE for parents, students cost $1.25). After enjoying breakfast in the cafeteria between, parents and students go to the Primary Library and check out a book to read together in the Library, their classroom or to take home and read together later that evening. This activity was a big success over the years . Watch for this great event during the 2006-2007 school year!

5th Grade Seekers
Each spring the Family Resource Center sponsors the Seekers Program for fifth grade students and their families. The Seekers program includes activities that will help students learn about the Middle School.
The dates for the 2007 program will posted in the spring. Fifth grade students and a parent or another adult are invited to lunch at the school. Then they go on a scavenger hunt in the Middle School.
