Saddle bronc rider Dan Mortensen, a former student and graduate of Lockwood Schools, was honored in his home town of Billings, Montana, with a larger-than-life bronze by well-know artist Ron Raines of Park City, Montana. The bronze was unveiled in a ceremony on October 16, 2002, at MetraPark in Billings. Metra is the local venue for rodeos, fairs, exhibitions, concerts, and other major area events. The statue is the focal point of a "Wall of Fame" honoring Montana cowgirls and cowboys. One hundred twenty-five limited edition table-top reproductions are being sold to help support the project.
