  • 2nd grade health book

Lesson Outline (step by step procedures):

  • Go to page 20-21 of our health book
  • Talk about the five senses using our health book, and give an example of each in the world around them. 
  • Review the five senses

Evaluation: (describe the instrument that will be used to assess student learning)

           Lesson 4 they will take a quiz about the five senses.

1.  Review the five senses and make sure students remember them. 

  • Watch video from United Streaming.
  • Following video discuss any questions students have about the movie or five senses.

Lesson Title: The League of Extraordinary Senses:  The Role of the 5 senses in protecting the body

The student will:  identify and discuss the five senses.

Time:  10 minutes

Materials and technology resources:

1.  My built web sight. (The Health Links Page) at the bottom for our lesson

  • Mac Lab
  • Overhead connected to my computer, so kids can see where to go.

Lesson Outline (step by step procedures):

  • Have them click with me through the LOCKWOOD SCHOOL Site to my web page. 
  •  Show them how to get to http://learntobehealthy.org/samples/senseable-me.aspx on my web sight.  Located at the middle bottom of my page.
  • Show them where to click at learn to be healthy. org
  • Explain how to start the game. 
  • Let them play the game and experience it through the web.
  • When finished let them close the page and line up to leave the computer lab.

Extensions: (describe extension and integration activities that relate to this lesson)

We could also someday play the healthy eating game on this web sight.
