  • In order for students to succeed in math, they need to be actively involved in the learning process. This includes coming to class prepared, on time, and ready to learn. Students must participate in classroom activities and discussions.
  • Many problems will be assigned in order for students to grasp new math concepts. Time is given in class to begin work on assignments and teacher help is available before and after school.
  • Ten of the assigned problems that encompass the entire lesson will be chosen to grade each day at the teacher's discretion.
  • No credit will be given for problems if all work is not shown. This ensures that the student both understands the problem and helps to eliminate careless mistakes.
  • Make-up work from excused absences must be asked for by the absent student. Daily assignments are written clearly on the board for students to see.
  • No late work is accepted. This includes assignments forgotten in lockers, assignments not completed, and those from unexcused absences.
  • It is important that 8th grade students become ready for high school. Therefore, 8th grade policies are made to prepare students for these rules.
