Job Description

TITLE: District Technology Coordinator Assistant
REPORTS TO:

Superintendent

SUPERVISES (if applicaable): N/A
JOB DEFINITION OR GOAL: The technology coordinator assistant will act as a resource to Lockwood School District relative to using the capacity available in the district's computer technology infrastructure, and to implementing the vision of the district's technology plan.  The assistant will support the coordinator in assisting the administration, school board and staff towards the integration of technology into the curriculum in order to facilitate student learning and empowerment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIIES:

  1. Builds the capacity of individual staff members to use computer technology.

  2. Assists the coordinator in training designed for K-8 teachers to increase the integrated use of computer technology by their students.

  3. Provides additional troubleshooting and integration training for the technology literacy coaches representing each grade level.

  4. Supports the computer lab technicians at each building level.

  5. Develops, promotes and coordinates curriculum designed specifically to integrate the use of internet information sources, internet projects and student use into existing curriculum.

  6. Designs and coordinates a system of middle school student technical assistance for all buildings.

  7. Provides troubleshooting service for both hardware and network issues.

  8. Provides training for newly assigned staff members and assists in their development.

  9. Participates in all meetings requested by the board and superintendent when needed.

  10. Prepares the technology requests and monitors expenditures of technology funds.

  11. Maintains an annual inventory of technology supplies and equipment.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Possess valid Montana teacher credentials; masters degree in education preferred.
  2. Knowledge of Lockwood School District operations.
  3. Knowledge of individual building settings.
  4. Familiarity with Lockwood School District Technology Plan.
  5. Familiarity with Lockwood School District Network and Internet.
  6. Demonstrate ability to present workshops, trainings and computer installations.
