TITLE:	Summer Worker
REPORTS TO:	Facilities Director
SUPERVISES (if applicaable):	N/A
JOB DEFINITION OR GOAL:	To assist the custodial and maintenance staff with summer cleaning, general maintenance and grounds keeping in preparation for the start of the next school year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIIES:Workers will be given portions of these duties. For example, a summer worker may do only painting, while others may be painting and cleaning.

1. Cleans all classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, offices, storage areas and windows (inside and out), building exteriors, pathways, floors (carpet and hard surface), walls, ceilings, light fixtures, lockers and any other designated area not listed.
   
   
2. Painting – Cleans and prepares surfaces; applies primers and finished coats.
   
   
3. General Maintenance – Refer to maintenance job description.
   
   
4. Grounds keeper – Participates in general grounds keeping duties such as mowing, trimming, weeding, spraying, fertilizing, operating sprinkler systems, planting trees and shrubs and any other grounds jobs as needed.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience in cleaning, painting, maintenance and grounds keeping, or a willingness to learn the tasks.
2. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
3. Maintain cooperative working relations with those contacted in the course of a workday.
4. Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, travel from one building to another, push heavy equipment, twist at neck and waist, reach and kneel.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May be required to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
