TITLE:	Nurse’s Assistant
REPORTS TO:	Nurse/Superintendent
SUPERVISES (if applicaable):	N/A
JOB DEFINITION OR GOAL:	To perform a variety of regular duties which follow particular routines in school health office. To perform basic first aid, administer medication according to district procedure, and to perform related work as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIIES:

1. Maintains an attitude of warmth and friendliness with children.
   
   
2. Performs a variety of clerical work, including proofreading, filing, checking and recording information on records.
   
   
3. Alphabetizes, files and re-files paper, cards and reports.
   
   
4. Searches records and files for readily identifiable information.
   
   
5. Operates a variety of office machines, including copier and computer.
   
   
6. Performs basic first aid.
   
   
7. Receives and gives information over the phone or in person in a courteous manner.
   
   
8. Works efficiently with frequent interruptions.
   
   
9. Understands and carries out oral and written instructions.
   
   
10. Maintains cooperative working relationships.
    
    
11. Types accurately.
    
    
12. Communicate clearly with parents, staff and students.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or equivalency.
2. Demonstrate aptitude for the work to be performed.
3. English usage, punctuation, spelling and grammar.
4. Knowledge of standard office procedures.
5. Knowledge of current technology and software applications.
