TITLE:	Community Education Coordinator
REPORTS TO:	Superintendent & Facilities Director
SUPERVISES (if applicaable):	N/A
JOB DEFINITION OR GOAL:	Be responsible for the overall development, organization, operation, coordination and evaluation of the defined community education program geared toward the interests and needs of the children, youth and adults living within the service areas of the Lockwood community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIIES:

1. Ensures that an authorized person is present on the school premises when community education activities are in progress.
   
   
2. Develops and operates a balanced optional program which includes activities and pastimes for children, youth and adults.
   
   
3. Promotes, publicizes and interprets existing and planned programs to the school staff and the community-at-large.
   
   
4. Assists the instructional staff in the development and operation of programs that have the capability to enrich the required portion of the school curriculum.
   
   
5. Conducts periodic assessments of community education needs and interests.
   
   
6. Facilitates understanding and improved working relationships between the faculty, custodial staff and other professional and classified employees of the district as applies to community education.
   
   
7. Assists in the enforcement of the rules and regulations of the school district during the course of the community education program.
   
   
8. Takes inventory of available spaces and takes steps to establish maximum usage.
   
   
9. Conducts meetings of the community education board and schedules as needed.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma.
2. Able to meet and deal effectively with people.
3. Computer skills desirable.
