contributed by Mr. Hankin's Sixth Grade 1998-99 Com Arts Class

Photograph of Eileen JohnsonHello! We interviewed Eileen Johnson, who has had experience in teaching, in being a principal, and is now a superintendent. She was born in January, and her favorite subjects in school were history and math. Gardening and reading are past times when she is not in school.

Mrs. Johnson's home is West Haverstraw, New York where she started as a teacher. She then moved on to teach in Arkansas, Kuwait, and New Jersey. After that she was a teacher and principal in Colstrip, Montana. She has been here in Lockwood for nine years as a principal and superintendent as of the 2005-06 school year.

Lockwood Schools Superintendent Eileen Johnson was a recipient of the Montana School Board Association's "School and Community Service Award" for 2001. This award was given at the MSBA awards luncheon in Helena on Wednesday, October 17. The presenter gave the following excerpt from the nomination letter:

"She is always visible, available and professional. She works harder than most and doesn't ask anything of anyone that she wouldn't or couldn't do herself. If there is an area that needs work, she's the first one there, and if she doesn't know how to do something, she soon learns. She keeps the welfare of the children at the forefront of each and every decision she makes."
