This year I have the opportunity, as an 8th grader at Lockwood School to participate in trip to Washington D.C. with other students from my grade.  This is a tradition at Lockwood School and this years trip is the 16th annual event.   Each student is responsible for raising their own funds for the trip. 

This years trip will be from May 18th 2008 through May 22nd, 2008.  We will begin our  trip flying from Billings to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  We will visit Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Constitution Center, the Betsy Ross House, The National Zoo, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, Capitol –House of Representatives & Senate Chambers, White House area, Lafayette Park, Ellipse, Visitors Center, Washington Monument, National Mall, FDR & Jefferson Memorials, Arlington National Cemetery; JFK/RFK gravesites, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Space Shuttle Memorial, Lee Mansion, Ford’s Theatre, Peterson House, Smithsonian Museum, Air & Space Museum, American Indian, American History Museum, Natural History Museum, War Memorials: WWII, Vietnam and Korea, Lincoln Memorial, Einstein Statue, National Archives, Mt. Vernon, Old Towne Alexandria, Holocaust Museum.

The cost of the trip includes airfare, ground transportation, entrance to all venues/sites, 3 meals per day, group photo on Capitol steps, DVD of the trip and a trip tee-shirt.   Also, each evening photos are posted, on the Global Travel website of our days travel so you can see what we are up to while we are away.  The total cost of trip is $1,585.00.

Global Travel Alliance tailors each tour to our group, we travel only with students from Lockwood school and are chaperoned by teachers as well as professional staff from Global Travel.  Hotel accommodations are through “3-star” or better hotels and security is provided at night during our trip on the floor designated for us.
