Each May eighth grade students have an opportunity to go on a school trip to visit Washington, D.C. and usually another large city in the east. In 2019 students will go to Baltimore and Philadelphia from May 17th - May 21st.
On the trip students will have the opportunity to travel with their friends for five days and see the following incredible locations: National Mall, Washington Monument, Petersen House and Ford’s Theatre; Jefferson, FDR, and MLK Jr. Memorials; Arlington National Cemetery - Burial grounds for American Military personnel, Changing of the Guard, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Robert E. Lee Mansion, and Kennedy grave sites; Iwo Jima Memorial, U.S. Capitol Building, Library of Congress and Supreme Court, United States Holocaust Memorial Museum; Lincoln, Korean, Vietnam, and WWII Memorials; Mt. Vernon - George Washington’s home and plantation; Old Town Alexandria - One of the oldest and most historic American cities; Smithsonian Museums, Baltimore Inner Harbor and Fort McHenry - birthplace of the National Anthem; Independence Park Area - Constitution Center, Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Franklin Court, and the Betsy Ross House.
