8th Grade D.C. Trip Fundraising Information
Thank you to all of those parents and students who were able to attend last nights meeting for the Washington D.C. trip fundraising. I know lots of you could not attend, but I will do my best to very meeting days. Updated information will be available in my office (FRC/Community Education, located, upstairs, room 432 in the Intermediate Building), on this website – both on the 8th grade Info. Link and the newsletters “Pride Page” section- hard copies are also available at each secretaries office on campus and the Lockwood IGA. A memo regarding an overall view of fundraising for this event is also available in my office in hardcopy or on this link. Please continue to check this link often for new information.
A lot of really good ideas were presented last night for fundraisers and a description of each follows below. Please contact me @ connerb@lockwood.k12.mt.us or call me at 248-3239 x 8 with your students names, your name, phone number(s), e-mail and snail mail addresses.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 11, 7:00 p.m. in room 386.
The following is a listing of the current fundraisers we discussed last night:
Home & Garden
Jennifer Tresch, a first grade teacher at Lockwood Primary School is a representative for “Home & Garden Party”. Jen presented candles for sale as well as home décor items, jewelry and cookie dough. Candles can be sold for $9.00, with a profit to your child of approximately $4.00 per candle. Information/selling packets will be available in the FRC/Community Education Beginning next week (Oct. 1).
I will put an announcement on this link when the packets become available. The selling ‘season’ on this fundraiser will be approximately three weeks, with the products taking 7-10 days to arrive, at which time, Jenn will have a get-together here at school to distribute products for delivery to your customers. Checks should be made out to “Jen Tresch”. After orders have been turned in, paid for and delivered to customers, Jen will then write checks to individual students/parents for their portions of the profit and you will then be responsible for sending the money for this fundraiser on to Global Travel.
Holiday Craft Bazaar
Once again this year, the 8th graders at Lockwood Schools have the opportunity to participate in the annual Lockwood Holiday Craft Bazaar. The way this works is that the Blue Room is set aside for 8th grade crafters. You decide what product you would like to sell- for instance, knitted scarves, polar fleece scarves or blankets, holiday decorations or ornaments. At this time baked goods and concession products are covered and we do not need anymore of these types of products.
Students pay a $5, refundable fee to participate in this fundraiser. Students who participate are asked to help set-up on Friday, November 16th, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria and Blue Room and again from 8:00-9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, the bazaar is open from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., students are then to help take down tables, chairs, etc. and help clean-up. The student participant and one parent need to be here the entire time from 9:00-3:00 p.m., set-up and clean-up and then your $5.00 will be refunded. Each participant will be given 10 flyers and will be expected to post these at local business, parents places of business, etc. Additional advertising will be done through the Gazette, possible morning spots on both TV stations and PSA’s with KCTR radio, as well as the school newsletter.
Any profit from this fundraiser is kept by individual students and is your responsibility to get to Global Travel.
If you are interested, please call or e-mail me to sign-up and let me know what your craft might be. There will be restrictions in some areas, as we don’t want, for example 17 people selling necklaces.
Brenlee Candles
Brenda Hallsted, an 8th grade parents presented information on selling soy-hand poured candles. These candles are currently available in 6 scents, and 20-30 additional scents are possible. These 5 oz. Candles are sold for $10.00 and students would received $6.67 profit per candle. Sign-up sheets are available and additional information can be found at: www.cwlight.net/brenlee .
Mountain Mudd “Coffee to Go” boxes
“Coffee To Go” boxes will be available at the Lockwood Mountain Mudd. These boxes come in a variety of flavors and are “ready to go” coffee, with approximately 8 cups of coffee and condiments in the package. A “Coffee To Go” box costs $20 and students can receiver $5.00 profit per box. Judy Holmes and I are working on cards students can hand out to family, friends, etc. to present to the Lockwood Mountain Mudd location when they purchase a “Coffee to Go” box and that student will be credited to Global Travel . Additional information will be posted on this fundraiser as it becomes available and when student cards are ready to go.
